Von den Frühlingsferien bis zu den Heuferien hatten wir das Thema Vögel. Wir haben anhand von tollem Lernmaterial von der Website http://www.lehrmittelperlen.net gearbeitet und haben viel Interessantes über Vögel gelernt. Aber am Besten lernt man in der freien Natur über Vögel und so sind wir etliche Male nach draussen und in Parks gegangen, um Vögel zu beobachten. Wir haben gezählt, wie viele Vögel wir jeweils von welcher Art sehen konnten. Manchmal kannten wir die Vogelart noch nicht, also forschten wir in unserem Vogelbuch nach. Schon toll, wie viele verschiedene Vögel wir schon in nächster Nähe von unserem Haus sehen können! (Fotos habe ich leider nicht so viel gemacht und nur wenige sind auch gut gelungen.)

From the spring holiday until our one-week break around Ascension Day and Pentecost we did a unit study on birds. We worked with great material from a Swiss educational website and learned a lot of interesting facts about birds. But, of course, you learn the most about birds when you’re out in nature and so we went outside a lot, in our neigborhood, while walking the dog and to parks to watch birds. We counted how many birds we saw and which kind. Sometimes we didn’t know the kind of bird we saw so we looked it up in our bird book. It’s really neat how many different kinds of birds we can see even so close to our house! (I hardly took any photographs and only a few turned out quite good.)
